Adjudicators Wanted

The Construction Dispute Resolution in Glasgow needs help with a survey on trends in adjudication.

The February edition of our newsletter included an article by Janey Milligan of Construction Dispute Resolution in Glasgow regarding the trends in Adjudication. The source data for the article was from the research she carries out in conjunction with Peter Kennedy of Glasgow Caledonian University (GCAL). For those who read the article in detail you will have noticed that there was a request for Adjudicators not currently participating in the research to come forward and assist in providing the necessary and crucial raw data.

Unfortunately GCAL have had little response and as such the Adjudication Society has offered to once again raise the cause amongst it Adjudicators.

The Adjudication Reporting Centre (ARC) at GCAL is the only organisation who has been collecting data since Statutory Adjudication was introduced in 1998 and as such is a much relied upon source. Those involved in ARC are aware that completing their questionnaires takes time out of your working day; however without contributions from active Adjudicators the reports are not possible.

If you are able to spare half an hour to complete a questionnaire please email href="mailto:info@cdr.uk.com">info@cdr.uk.com with your details in order that the latest questionnaire can be issued to you, which covers the period from November 2007 until May 2008. Be assured that your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

ARC are hoping as many Adjudicators as possible will respond as it is intending to host an event in June 2008 to mark 10 years since Statutory Adjudication was introduced. The latest statistics will be launched and all those contributing will be invited to the event.

On behalf of the Adjudication Society, I would urge all Adjudicators to assist ARC in publishing statistics from Adjudicators by agreeing to contribute and href="mailto:info@cdr.uk.com">info@cdr.uk.com with your contact details, now!

Many thanks
