The executive committee is settling in well. I am still Acting Hon Sec; any volunteers to act as Hon Sec are welcome to email me. Richard Booth has been confirmed as the member of the Committee to replace the very long serving Tim Willis as regional coordinator. Our deep and heartfelt thanks go to Tim for his very hard work. Susan Francombe has very kindly agreed to take the very unofficial role of AGM coordinator. Many thanks, Susan. Hamish Lal continues as Treasurer and reports a very stable financial position. Martin Potter and his team of excellent and hard-working volunteers continue to produce an excellent Conference.
The Society has made a donation to the cost of providing the Lord Mayor’s float in November of £3,000. The Committee has agreed to subscribe to CityUK. I have also been having informal meetings with Karl Mackie of CEDR. The Committee is now preparing a Report considering whether the Society should examine adjudication in areas additional to construction. The Report will be placed before the membership in due course. For those who worked through the Summer, without vacation, it has been one of the best in living memory.
The Newsletter led by Glenn Godfrey and very effectively produced by Jennie Gillies of 4 Pump Court is a great credit to the Society. I also thank all the contributors for their very hard work. Without them the Newsletter would not exist.
