Glenn Godfrey

Another great conference! Well organised – especially occurring the day after the decision in Grove was handed down; could not have been much better timed.

We are always seeking to develop the Newsletter as a mark of Adjudication excellence; to disseminate leading opinion and best practice for adjudicators and practitioners; to inform about adjudication in the UK and throughout the world.

We would like to receive articles (approximately 1500 - 2000 words long) from members and exponents in adjudication, either as one-off contributions or on a regular basis. Contributions can have a national or international flavour.

We continue to seek more contributors. Please will you talk with or email Lucy Garrett or Glenn Godfrey if you would like information about contributing or if you would like to see particular topics or themes explored in future editions.

February 2008: Payment: e.g. awarding sums, the Adjudicator’s fee, to lien or not to lien, VAT, deciding ...

May 2008: Jurisdictional challenges: e.g. their place, what not to raise, how and when to raise, refusing to take part ...

An apology: The article “Trends in Adjudication” in February’s Newsletter was wrongly ascribed and Table 2 therein was incorrect. The article was written by Janey Milligan, Managing Director of Construction Dispute Resolution. The correct Table 2 is below. Janey, I apologise for the errors and for the inconvenience caused. I also apologise to you all for these errors and for any inconvenience caused.

Lucy has gone on a long, well deserved holiday and has delegated the compilation of this issue to me. As our holidays overlapped, I may have missed a contribution or two - I apologise now if I have.
