One of the relentless trends which has accompanied the march of Adjudication has been the increasing complexity and size of cases. This has only rarely been matched by willingness of the Referring Party (or even the Responding Party) to extend the period of the adjudication to match the needs of a proper investigation. Consequently, Adjudicators in mega- and even larger adjudications have had to consider
rapid ways of cutting through issues with which they have insufficient time to deal properly.
