Message from the Chairman

Society Chairman Nicholas Gould has a message for members. Dear Member, I took over as the Chairman of the Adjudication Society on 13 November 2008. For those of you that attended the annual conference you will recall that some members were keen to consider how the Adjudication Society could be developed in the coming years. For my part, I am very keen to see that we develop some clear simple goals for the Society over the next five years. I believe that we must continue to develop our main objectives, which are to promote for both the public and individual members, education, training, study and research (together with the publications of such research) in the field of adjudication practice and procedure. This is not just in the UK but worldwide, and so I am also keen to see the Society develop in its international links, in order to enhance and develop the knowledge of its members. However, it is your Society and Stephen Clarke, as secretary and Liam Holder will email you soon with regards to your views. They intend to issue a short questionnaire, but in the meantime if you do have any particular views or comments about the future of the Society then please email them now. They will be very pleased to hear from you. They will be coordinating all responses, but if you wish to email me then please feel free to do so. I am looking forward to the coming term as your Chairman and look forward to keeping in contact with you, not just through the website and the newsletter, but also at future events. All the very best for 2009. Kind regards Nicholas Gould Chairman, Adjudication Society
